Meanwhile, the concentration of the nuclear icebreaking fleet in it, of course, requires an increased level of navigation support. Unfortunately, the necessary technical means of domestic production are not yet available.
Given the increased environmental hazard in the bay, a reliable automated control system is required here. One of the possible options is to purchase such an import system from Norcontrol. The fact is that we have a service center in Murmansk for the maintenance of the equipment supplied by it, a radar simulator and trained specialists.
The proposed automated control system of the Kola Bay includes a central post and 4 automated unattended ones. The latter are delivered in container houses, which avoids the difficult and expensive construction of buildings in remote uninhabited locations. According to Norcontrol, the cost of the equipment supplied by it and the commissioning works with the completion of the complex in 7 months is 2.5 million foreign currency rubles. Moreover, payment can also be made in installments.
It should also be said that this complex would help establish VHF radio communication in the Kola Bay, which is currently impossible due to the mountainous terrain.
